Celebrating Tracey Emin

To commemorate the opening of Tracey Emin’s groundbreaking retrospective at Tate Modern, Extraordinary Objects invites you into a curated exhibition focused on Emin’s celebrated raw and confessional work

“Tracey Emin: A Second Life”, opening 27 February, is the largest ever exhibition of Emin works, and represents 40-years of practice - from seminal installations made in the 1990s, to recent paintings and bronzes on display for the first time.

The exhibition will bring together more than 90 works including paintings, video, textiles, neon, sculptures and installation, representing her uncompromising confessional approach to sharing experiences of love, trauma and personal growth. A highlight of the exhibition is the reinstallation of her 1998 work ‘My Bed’, a physical documention of her recovery from an alcohol-fuelled breakdown which earned her a Turner Prize nomination.

Dame Tracey Emin said “I’m very excited about having a show at Tate Modern. For me, it’s one of the greatest international contemporary art museums in the world and it’s here in London. I feel this show, titled ‘A second Life’, will be a bench mark for me. A moment in my life when I look back and go forward. A true celebration of living”.

From her latest releases, to rare prints, our collection of limited edition prints reflect on Emin’s themes of love, sexuality, identity, and personal history, which have been carried throughout her incredible career.

All works featured below are available for purchase. To arrange a visit and discover more of the objects in our collection, please get in touch.

“Don’t be afraid to take the past head on”
- Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin is a renowned British artist known for her provocative and deeply personal works. In the 1990s, Emin emerged as one of the leading figures in the Young British Artists (YBAs) movement, which challenged traditional notions of art and propelled British contemporary art onto the global stage. Her confessional, narcissistic and self-deprecatory approach earned Emin a nomination for the Turner Prize in 1999.
