Retreat to the woods

Ever since I can remember I wanted a cabin in the woods. I dreamt of living in tune with the seasons and losing track of time, of finding some kind of harmony with the natural world and becoming a part of it rather than separate to it. I suspected there might be a deeper, more profound kind of connection beyond all the relentless human and technological distractions. Ultimately I thought a cabin in the woods was a place I might forget the stresses of everyday life and be happy.

Turns out it is. I’m happy as fuck when I’m at the cabin.

Handmade off-grid

Designed and built by Rollo Dunford our cabin sits in six acres of enchanting ancient woodland, surrounded by a further twenty-five acres of meadows and ponds. Constructed from reclaimed tin and timber from the woods, there is no wifi, electricity or running water (there are amenities a short walk away). You probably won’t get much phone signal. However you are very likely to encounter foxes and badgers and countless other woodland creatures. The cabin is our personal haven from the outside world which is why we only rent it out to guests occasionally.

Stay with us
