A rare 18th Century stick chair from West Wales. This is the simplest form of stick chair, also known as a back stool. In elm and ash, and on three legs, it’s a rare survivor of Welsh vernacular seating. Highly sculptural and totally original, it’s a wonderful chair. An almost identical one can be seen in Tim and Betsan Bowen’s book The Welsh Stick Chair (chair 24).
